Being a Mom

     It is so hard to be a super mom. In which you have to prepare healthy food, teach your kids, clean their rooms and clothes, entertain them through games, take care about them when they get sick.... The mother is a real hero! Imagine doing all this while learning TD courses with their projects and teaching at a private school with its massive work! When I think about my To Do List I feel like crazy and I blame myself for punishing myself in this way. Yet when I see the smiles on my daughter's' faces, Maram and Reyam, when see my GPA, and when I feel the love of my students, I forget every think.

Thing We Can Do Now

     It is so easy to show my students any picture or video on the spot. This shows them more information and relates their lesson to the real life. Also, now the teacher can monitor what, when, and how each student moved while doing a homework. Also, teachers and students can meet and learn even if each one is in a different country. In this way, the learning process can continue even if the students were not able to go to their schools and universities. Now, smart teachers can use some tools to motivate all the students with different types to share and participate.  those and much more things were not capable few years ago.  

Challenges for Online Teaching/Learning

     I am teaching and learning online. Even though I like it but I still suffer from some challenges. The first problem is  that in Lebanon the internet connection is bad as well as the electricity power, For example, I am not allowed to attend most sessions in the Technology Course because of the power. I have to go to the recorded sessions in order to learn. This prevents me from sharing and participating. Moreover, online teaching prevents the students to experiment with the teacher or use their senses like smelling, touching or tasting while explaining. In addition, The assessment at the school is more credible than it is online. The worst part is correcting paragraphs or essays the students wrote because she needs to show the student his mistakes. 

To Avoid Problems

     In classroom, classroom rules are needed. It is the same while learning online. The teacher has to talk about being a digital citizen and give moral lessons. At the beginning, the teacher has to make sure that all the students know how to use the online application required for online learning. The teacher also has to warn the students to pay attention for the camera and the microphone that may show others what's going on inside their homes. Opening the camera and the microphone has to be after taking permission. It is important to raise the hand before talking and to pay attention what to say. Recording the sessions can protect the teacher as well as the students from any blame. Students have to know that they are responsible for what is posted so that they have to follow and keep updating their application. talking to the teacher must happen within the school time and using the application like eSchool or Microsoft Teams and not on whatsapp.   

How To Be a Digital Citizin

    Wherever and whenever we go we should keep in mind that we have to treat others just the way we like to be treated. Being polite, respectful, wise... has to be in real life and while using technology. It is not good to put bad comments because a real person will read it and it might hurt him. It is not allowed to steal others' efforts. It is harmful to put sensitive personal information such as phone number that might let some haters hurt you. Don't believe everything you see or read online because... These advices and others explain how we can be digital citizins. 

Online Assessment Tools

      Assessing tools saved the teacher's time through correcting, grading, and analyzing the students' performance. It can show were the students have a problem and what should be repeated or not. But of course, not every thing can be assessed through these tools. There are many tools like Socrative, Google Form, Mentimeter, Poll Everywhere, Kahoot... All these tools and others can help the teachers in many ways but they needs creativity from the teacher. Microsoft Teams, eSchool, and others has tools inside their program.

Integrating Technology into Teaching

     Teaching is very flexible and can be done in several ways. The more variety in tools and methods used while teaching the more effective learning can be reached. Since the kids are motivated with technology, the teacher has to integrate technology in teaching. That is to keep the idea of connecting learning to the real life and at the same time to motivate the students using the interesting tools and applications available online. Without technology we could have not used the online teaching/learning which means no school at all for two years. On the other hand, even if using technology is important while learning, it is still more important for students under seven to use their motor skills and senses in school more than using technology.
